Woke up today to the latest chapter in the Bears’ saga of confusion and disappointment: Nate Davis suddenly has a back injury. Not a single hint of him being on the injury list all week, and now, out of nowhere, he’s “hurt.” No buildup, no warning. Just a last-minute vanishing act.
Look, Davis has already been a mystery for us all season. When he signed, we thought he was the kind of physical, reliable guard we needed. Instead, we’ve gotten an offensive lineman who’s played as inconsistently as the team he’s supposedly supposed to help anchor. Now he’s waking up with mystery injuries?
I hate to say it, but this is the exact kind of nonsense that sets this team back every year. We can’t even get through one week without another out-of-nowhere issue. It’s maddening. What are we supposed to think when our “starter” can disappear without a trace? Thanks, Nate – for nothing.
