This season, the Bears’ offense has been stuck in neutral (again). But while we’re pointing fingers at coaching or play-calling, one thing is crystal clear: we have to get Rome Odunze more touches. This guy is sitting on untapped potential, and it’s time the Bears start using him to drive our offense forward.

Let’s look at the numbers. Odunze has been consistent when given chances. His catch rate has hovered around 70%, and he’s averaging 14.2 yards per catch—a top target whenever he’s given the opportunity. And yet, he’s only seen a handful of targets per game. When you have a player with Odunze’s physicality and speed, you don’t keep him on a leash. You let him go make plays.

Odunze’s big-play ability could change the whole dynamic of our offense. His ability to separate downfield opens up the short game and takes pressure off our other receivers. With our running game struggling to find consistency, utilizing Odunze could provide the spark we’ve been missing. Imagine the impact if he’s integrated into screens, deep routes, and quick slants that let him use his speed after the catch.

This season, we’re seeing offenses around the league prioritize playmakers. Look at what Miami does with Tyreek Hill or Minnesota with Justin Jefferson. Those teams don’t hesitate to keep feeding their most explosive players. If we want to turn things around, it’s time to give Odunze the green light.
