The Chicago Bears’ 2023 second-round pick, Gervon Dexter Sr., started the year off slowly, but towards the end of the season, he showed he could be a dominant three-technique. Following the acquisition of Montez Sweat, Gervon Dexter Sr. received less attention from opposing offenses, allowing him to shine. Dexter is an absolute FREAK at 6’6″ and 313 pounds, not to mention his background as a former basketball player with reflexes reminiscent of the sport.

Now, he finds himself under the guidance of a new defensive coordinator who specializes in defensive line play. Eric Washington has a proven track record of transforming developmental pieces into fucking studs. At only 22 years old, with plenty of room to grow, Dexter Sr. has the opportunity to become the much-needed three-technique in Eberflus’ cover two scheme.

It will require some patience, but Dexter Sr. is poised to become a solid cornerstone for the franchise moving forward. It’s only onward and upward from here!
